To love and passionately pursue Jesus and share Him with the world
Our vision is to be a faith family rooted in our love for God and one another, our pursuit of Jesus, and our passion to host the presence of the Holy Spirit, on mission to build strong families both naturally and spiritually in order to raise up and equip a generation of mature disciples to release the power and love of Jesus into the earth.
Our vision is built around the greatest commandment- “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind... You shall love your neighbor as yourself. -Matthew 22:37-39 and the great commission- "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." -Matthew 28:19.
We gather "around the ark" (the presence of God) to worship, pray, intercede and minister and fellowship together as a family both during our Sunday gatherings as well as our prayer meetings and other small group gatherings. Then we go out into our
families, churches, workplaces, communities, and beyond to release Jesus' love and power into the earth through both our everyday lives (lifestyle evangelism) and by serving and ministering together to our local community through community outreaches.
WORSHIP
Our highest priority is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to worship Him in spirit and in truth. We do this by a personal and corporate lifestyle of praise, worship, and intercession. Jesus is the center of all we are and all we do in both our lives and our ministry. We prioritize worshipping together during our gatherings as taught in the Bible, by expressing our love, honor, adoration, and reverence to God through singing songs of praise, lifting our hands, clapping, and playing musical instruments. We worship together as one body with the primary focus on God as we exalt and magnify Him.
HOST THE PRESENCE
We are passionate about hosting the presence of God both in our personal lives and our church gatherings. Our prayer is for His kingdom to come and His will to be done in our lives and our church. When we gather as a church, our main goal is to gather around the presence and make space for the Holy Spirit to have His way. We do our best to surrender to Him and follow His leading so everything we do flows from that heart and life posture.
PRAYER
We believe we are called to be a people of prayer, fulfilling the Biblical mandate of Jesus that His house will be called a house of prayer. Prayer is a priority whenever we gather, whether on Sunday mornings or at our prayer meetings or small group gatherings. Worship and prayer are the heartbeat of our gatherings. We pray and seek God together, we pray for one another, and we intercede on behalf of our families, our friends, our community, our region, and our nation.
FAMILY
We believe the church, the body of Christ, is the family of God. We believe the heart of God for His people is to function not as a business or an organization, but as a family. We believe the local church is the means by which God plants each member in the body, and that it is vital to each person’s spiritual health and growth to be established in the local church; to be planted in, rooted in, grounded in, and serving in a local church. It is how we live and function as the family of God, grow to maturity, and live the fullness of the abundant Christian life that God has for each one of us. We believe that the kingdom of God is built by building and raising up strong families, both naturally and spiritually. We are a close-knit community of believers who enjoy being a family together and all the blessings that come along with family- both fellowshipping together, eating meals together, building deep and lasting relationships with each other, and also strengthening and encouraging one another, praying for one another, and using our God-given gifts to serve one another in love. Though we are close-knit, we are by no means exclusive! Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, whether you have been walking with Jesus for a long time or are newer to the Christian faith, we invite you to join us and discover the joy of knowing Jesus and being a part of the family of God.
ON MISSION
We are a family who are "called out" to serve, so we are "on mission" to serve together, by ministering to one another in our church community, to our families, co-workers, and the people in our sphere of influence, ministering in our local community where we live through various community outreaches and evangelism, and also connecting with the global church to support the spread of the gospel around the world.
DISCIPLES WHO MAKE DISCIPLES
We believe that we are called by Jesus to be disciples who make disciples. It is the responsibility of every believer to grow to maturity in their walk with God to be devoted followers of Jesus and in turn lead others by example. We are a safe place where people can find God and grow in their relationship with Him to become mature, devoted followers of Jesus, who can lead others to do the same.
EQUIPPING THE SAINTS
Every believer has been created for a purpose- good works prepared for them to accomplish. God has given each believer gifts to use for His glory to build His kingdom. We take responsibility to help people discover their purpose, unwrap their gifts, and learn how to use them for the kingdom of God. We take responsibility to teach, train, and equip the saints for the work of the ministry so each part is working properly, making the body grow so that it builds itself up in love (from Eph. 4:13).
Josh and Laura planted Harvest Church in early 2020 after nearly two decades of serving in the local church in various leadership and pastoral roles, along with leading an itinerant worship team for over six years. Their passion is to host the presence of God and see a move of His spirit empower the church. Their desire is to see people saved, healed, and set free by the transforming power of Jesus, come into their true identity as sons and daughters of God, and find their place in the family of God. They have a heart for discipleship, and they love helping people grow spiritually, discover their God given purpose and gifts, and develop and use their gifts for God, both in the church and outside the church in their daily lives. They have been married for 20 years and have two teenage children, Cara and Jacob.
